On August 28-30, 2024, the Minister of Information and Telecommunications of the Republic of Serbia Dejan Ristic is visiting the Republic of Belarus. On August 28, Minister Konstantin Shulgan held talks with the Serbian delegation at the Ministry of Communications and Informatization of the Republic of Belarus. During the talks, Konstantin Shulgan stressed the traditionally strong relations between the two countries. This November marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Serbia. The head of the Ministry of Communications indicated the readiness of the Belarusian side to exchange experience with Serbian partners in the field of digitalization and development of information and communication technologies. - We are interested in Serbia's experience in the field of introducing new technologies: These are 5 G, artificial intelligence, e-commerce development, education. We discussed these and other areas that are important in digital development in sufficient detail to understand the initial data and find application to the experience of Serbia in the Republic of Belarus and vice versa," Shulgan said. The parties discussed issues of establishing bilateral cooperation on the development of e-government, providing citizens with services in a proactive format, introducing smart cities technologies, developing project documents in the field of digital development, establishing cooperation in the field of postal communications, education, etc. The head of the Serbian delegation invited the Minister of Communications and Informatization to visit the Republic of Serbia to consolidate the agreements reached during the negotiations, as well as to take part in the world universal exhibition EXPO-2027, which will be held in Belgrade. The parties agreed to prepare for signing in the near future an agreement on cooperation in the field of postal communications between authorized operators of the two countries. During the visit, the Serbian delegation will get acquainted with the work of the Minsk Post Production, hold substantive negotiations in the Hi-Tech Park, as well as in the Great Stone Industrial Park.
