From 12 to 22 May 2025, a meeting of Working Parties 5A and 5C of the International Telecommunication Union Radiocommunication Sector (ITU-R WP 5A and 5C) was held in Geneva, Swiss Confederation, with the participation of the state enterprise BelGIE specialists.
More than 300 representatives of the ITU Member States communications administrations, regional and international, as well as scientific and industrial organizations in the field of telecommunications continued to work on revising existing documents and developing new ones - ITU-R Recommendations and Reports.
The discussions were based on more than 100 contributions from ITU Member States. Of greatest interest are the contributions on WRC-27 agenda items, in particular on item 1.10, which is a priority for the Republic of Belarus.
In the course of the work, criteria for protecting fixed service radio electronic facilities were selected. Further study by communications administrations is required for such research parameters as elevation angles of fixed service radio electronic facilities, types of antennas used, and consideration of obstacles when calculating propagation losses.
Significant progress has been made in the work on revising the ITU recommendation on the characteristics of broadband local area networks.
A decision was made to hold a WP 5C seminar on the development of a new reference book on fixed service systems as part of the next meeting.
