The achieved level of telecommunication development in the Republic of Belarus allows almost to fully satisfy the growing information needs of citizens, businesses and the state, creates conditions for the further digitization of the country and the provision of electronic services throughout the republic.
Today, 188 operators provide telecommunication services in the country. In 2019, work was completed to bring a fibre-optic communication line to each apartment of the urban multi-apartment building.

Driven by information and communication technologies, our societies have undergone a digital transformation that gave birth to the digital economy and information society.

Within the framework of the 50th jubilee International Youth Competition of Epistolary Essays, organized by the Universal Postal Union (UPU), RUE “Belpochta” for the 25th time held the Belarusian Youth Epistolary Essay Competition among students of state educational institutions of the Republic of Belarus not older than 15 years.
The epistolary essay competition is not only a great opportunity to develop the ability to formulate and express their thoughts, but also to help participants understand the important role that postal services play in our society.

The Republic of Belarus won the International Drawing Competition on the theme "Ecosystem Conservation - Climate Protection" to select an illustration of a new international response coupon (IRC) called "Abidjan".

On April 21-22, the Regional Preparatory Meeting for the CIS Region for the World Telecommunication Development Conference 2021 will be held in virtual mode. The World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC) meets every four years between the Plenipotentiary Conferences of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to consider topics, projects and programs related to telecommunication development. The WTDC defines the strategies and objectives for telecommunication / ICT development for the next four-year period.

A special session within the framework of the Regional Preparatory Meeting of the International Telecommunication Union for WTDC-21 for the CIS Region dedicated to the International Day “Girls in ICT” and the Global Network of Women in ICT Decision Makers will be held on 22 April 2021 online in Russian and English.

It should be noted that this year marks the 10th anniversary of the International Day “Girls in ICT”.

ITU offers a set of materials for organizing events

An organizing committee has been created in Belarus for the preparation and holding of the XXVII International Forum on Information and Communication Technologies TIBO-2021.

The corresponding decree was signed on March 23 by the Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Aleksandrovich GOLOVCHENKO.

The Minister of Communications and Informatization Konstantin Konstantinovich SHULGAN was appointed the Chairman of the Organizing Committee.

The organizing committee includes representatives of ministries, departments, various associations.

Today, within the framework of the Forum "Smart Sustainable Cities: Organizational and Technical Aspects of Development", which is taking place in Minsk from 16 to 18 March, a meeting of the Regional Group of the 20th ITU-T Study Group for Eastern Europe, Central Asia and the Caucasus (SG20RG-EECAT) will take place.
