The ITU ICT Development Index (IDI) 2025 released, confirms steady progress towards universal and effective connectivity, defined as equal access to the Internet for everyone, at an affordable price, anywhere and at any time, with minimal cost.
The Republic of Belarus has improved its position for the third year in a row. Thus, the final result for 2025 was 90.7 points against 88.5 points last year. The positions were strengthened in seven out of nine indicators, while in two indicators - the cost of a fixed broadband Internet access basket (as a % of GNI per capita) and the number of people with a mobile phone (%) - our country received the maximum value (100%).
Individual values of indicators in the field of telecommunications were:
Internet accessibility: 91.5% of the population of Belarus uses the Internet and 92.5% of households have access to the network at home.
Mobile communications: Belarus has high 3G (99.9%) and 4G/LTE network coverage (98.4%), and the number of mobile broadband subscriptions per 100 inhabitants reached 103.7.
Internet traffic: The average mobile broadband traffic per subscription in Belarus is 166.0 GB, and fixed broadband traffic is 2005.3 GB.
Cost of services: Belarus shows low costs of access to mobile communications and broadband, with prices for the mobile and voice basket amounting to 1.2% of GNI per capita, and for fixed broadband – 0.7%.
These figures once again demonstrate that Belarus is confidently moving towards building a society where information technology is available to everyone, creating conditions for further development and prosperity.
