Delegation of Vietnam Post (VNPost) visited RUE “Belpochta”

The delegation of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam headed by Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, President&CEO, Vietnam Post (VNPost), paid an official visit to RUE “Belpochta” on 15 September 2017.

On behalf of RUE “Belpochta” the delegation of Vietnam was received by Mr. Uladzimir Matusevich, Director General of RUE “Belpochta”, Ms. Elena Skripchik, First deputy Director General of RUE “Belpochta”, Ms.Elena Drozdovich, Head of Direction of technological support, operations and postal security of RUE “Belpochta”.

Data centre construction took 2 years with total amount of investments approaching $20 mln.

Another $30-50 mln are planned to be invested in further expansion considering demand on the services offered. Export potential during first years of operation is expected on the level of $2-5 mln. velcom DC will be 41st in the international chain of telecom giant America Movil. Design and construction was done in full compliance with international standards taking into account current demand on domestic and foreign market. Data centre was certified by Uptime Institute (UI) as Tier III compliant in the categories Design and Facility based on international reliability standards.

ITU releases 2017 global information and communication technology facts and figures

​​​​New data released by ITU, the United Nations specialized agency for information and communication technologies (ICTs), show that 830 million young people are online, representing 80 per cent of the youth population in 104 countries. ITU's ICT Facts and Figures 2017​ also shows a significant increase in broadband access and subscriptions with China leading the way.

ICT development priorities

During the meeting of the final board of the Ministry of Communications and Informatization, which took place on February 2, head of administration Sergei Popkov noted that in 2016, the development of information and communication infrastructure and implementation of new services on its basis continued. Creation of one of the most advanced telecommunications infrastructures in Eastern Europe is the goal set by Sergei Popkov, Minister of Communications and Informatization.
