At the meeting of the working group the approaches to the implementation of the fifth generation cellular mobile telecommunication networks in the Republic of Belarus were discussed

On June 12, 2020, under the leadership of Konstantin Shulgan, Minister of Communications and Informatization, Deputy Chairman of the working group on development of the strategy for creating the fifth generation (5G) cellular mobile telecommunication networks in the Republic of Belarus, the regular meeting of this working group was held.

The Minister informed, that over the past few years the work has been carried out by the Ministry of Communications and Informatization together with other state authorities, mobile operators and public associations on the implemention of the fifth generation (5G) cellular mobile telecommunication networks in order to prepare a radio frequency resource for implementing the 5G network, to develop the more acceptable conditions for an early introducing this wireless technology throughout the country based on the state priorities.

During the meeting, Konstantin Shulgan informed about the joint work with state authorities on the formation of the requirements system for a potential operator on the terms and conditions for covering the territory of the Republic of Belarus with 5G services and their quality, as well as on the trial operation of the fifth generation (5G) network equipment carried out by mobile operators, under which, on the proposal of the Ministry of Communications and Informatization, the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, a number of full-scale studies are planned with the participation of representatives of the interested public governance authorities, mobile operators and equipment manufacturers in order to determine the conditions for the compliance with the state sanitary regulations when implementing this wireless technology.

During the meeting the proposals developed by the Ministry of Communications and Informatization together with interested parties on the approaches to the implementation of the fifth generation (5G) cellular mobile telecommunications network in the Republic of Belarus, taking into account the international experience in this area, were also considered and supported.

The Ministry of Communications and Informatization will inform additionally about the results of the discussions on the preparation for the implementation of the fifth generation (5G) cellular mobile communication network in the Republic of Belarus with telecommunication operators and representatives of public organizations.
